Is there a better way of adding and subtracting instead of having to take off my shoes and using my toes?

Please tell me you don't ever have to do any addition and subtraction with 21 because I don't want to know what else you'd take off.

break the question down to smaller parts for instance if you have 96 - 12 =? take the 96 and just make it 9 set the 6 aside and do the same for 12 make it 1 and set the 2 aside so then you have 9 minus 1 which is 8 right? then take the 6 minus 2 which becomes 4 now set the numbers back together and you get the answer 84
Reply:Take some scratch paper and write it out, on your computer there is a calculator in the Start Menu, buy a calculator at the store, calulators are also on cell phones, or practice and learn to count in your head like example: think 5 plus 4 = 5,6,7,8,9. its 9. hope this helps and good luck!
Reply:You're silly. Please don't use a calculator just for addition and subtraction. Too many kids now days cannot count out change at the store (if they work there) w/out the register telling them exactly how much it is. It's SAD!! One day I gave a teenager $10.22 (or something like that) for a purchase that was $5.22 cause I didn't have a $5 bill. I was TRYING to make it easy for her. But she STILL GAVE ME THE WRONG CHANGE. I could not believe it!!





Try to learn it on your own. Now for really big equasions, then yes, use the calc. Take your shoes off and use your fingers AND toes. Lucky you, it's flip flop season!!
