How can I get my daughter to keep her shoes on?

We moved from Hawaii a year ago and my eight year old daughter enrolled in private school. The school has a strict dress code and requires girls to wear dress shoes (patent mary janes or penny loafers). My daughter's teacher tells me she's constantly taking her shoes off in class. My daughter says the shoes cramp her feet, but I double checked the shoes and they're the right size. I think she's just not used to wearing dress shoes, after being barefoot most of the time in Hawaii. How can I get my daughter to not take off her dress shoes so much?

She could be complaining about the width, sometimes these shoes are not the right size in the width and they can make her feet cramp. Take her to a doctor and get a note that says she needs to wear another type of shoe so that her feet are comfortable and then you could also have her size checked for width - if she needs a wider shoe get one, but also let her know that she needs to keep the shoes on when she is at school, but when school lets out she can change to other shoes or barefoot. She is old enough to understand the rule and can accept compromise.
Reply:Good luck.... my daughter is 13 and still takes off her shoes all the time. But actually what people are saying is correct, check the width also look at her feet the length might be appropriate but the width might be pushing her toes together. Also check her toenails etc, if they are too long they might be hurting her other toes. I would recommend a pedicure but then she will want to show off her toes more. Also you might try giving her flip flops to wear to and from school so that she has a chance to allow her feet to "breathe" , might make all the difference in the world.
Reply:tell her she will be punished for disobeying... be strictn make her understand that there are rules n she must obey these rules or there will be a punishment...
Reply:superglue
Reply:give her rewards and then slowly take them away so you wont have to give rewards for the rest of her life. dress codes are very strict but i agree with you she has to get used to them. if she continues for a long time see if you can have her transfered to a different school that doesnt have dress codes. they can be cruel.
Reply:First take her again to have her feet properly fit for shoes. Her shoes may not be wide enough around the toes, especially if she is used to going barefoot, which I love too. Then after confirming with a professional that her shoes are indeed the right size tell her there will be consequences for taking them off at school and follow through with the consequences.
Reply:if you keep your shoes on ill give you/ butyou/let you.....(fill in the blank.)
Reply:super glue? take her shoe shopping let her pick the ones she wants
Reply:Break in the shoes so they are more comfortable...
