Has anyone been able to increase running speed by using Achilles Speed shoes? See: www.achillesspeed.com?

This site claims to increase running speed and prevent injuries by improving all sports skills (at the same time) in 8 weeks. Has any one taken them up on their offer to "Accept wagers, give odds and challenge any speed training competitor to compare results after 8 weeks? Using leverage of the shoe's "rocking chair" design to lift the body's own weight thousands of times in 20 minutes makes sense. It really could slash training time. This type of shoes has been around for a long time now marketed under different names to help you run faster, jump higher, etc.

I have tried a pair on and they do isolate muscles that you do not normally use. you can feel it. But, I don't think its worth possibly injuring an Achilles tendon, ligaments, or joints. Try a pair on and you can feel it shifting the weight to different joints as well as muscles.

I would not recommend these shoes unless recommended by your doctor.
Reply:I think all running shoes are pretty much the same. I don't see how a shoe could improve your running. Unless it has some sort of hydraulics then a running shoe is a running shoe.
