Does rolled up newspaper inside the shoes deodorize them?

I was wondering if you have shoes that are stinky and then in the night time or the days I don't use the shoes, I lay them out in the living room and put rolled up newspaper inside of them to deodorize the shoes? Also what kind of newspaper, the market ones also, the Times newspapers, or both?

Good old bake soda works great, then just shack and wipe out when ready to wear. New stuff is the new sprays for odar.Never thought of using paper.

Reply:what i would do is spray febreeze inside them or something similar thats what i do to my shoes
